“Parents and teachers who know me say I am uniquely gifted at communicating with young clients, resulting in a faster resolution of issues. For over 20 years, I have helped children, youth and families with concerns that include ADHD/ADD, anxiety, trauma, grief, abuse, and family crisis resulting from substance abuse, divorce, and separation. Experienced in both the public and private sectors, I am well-skilled at helping clients with school and educational issues such as: learning disabilities, behavior disorders, and emotional issues. I collaborate with teachers and parents to create a working plan that will support the child's needs.

My specialties include goal oriented play therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapies utilized to change behavior, thoughts and perceptions. As a therapist and instructor certified in Choice/Reality Therapy (www.choicetheory.com) , I help clients identify which wants or needs are not being met, evaluate possible choices, and establish a plan for resolution.

Working in public school systems allowed me to see a wide spectrum of student problems and needs. I have counseled with individual students, groups, and families to evaluate problems, share skills, and resolve issues in sometimes simple or creative ways. I have been in private, part-time practice for over 15 years.”
